For the third year in a row, UKDG is publishing RECOMMENDED salary amounts for consultants, and taking into account the salaries of consulting engineers in foreign-owned companies operating in the Republic of Croatia.

The stated wages for the period in question (2023-2024) repesent the initial (base) labor costs of consulting engineers, which can be significantly higher, depending on the complexity of the project and are aligned with the rise of living costs as well rise of salaries in related professional areas, and are in implementation from 01/10/2023

After our written inquiry dated on 21/07/2021 to the Agency for the Protection of Market Competition (AZTN), they issues an opinion on 29/07/2021, in which it was stated that the publication of the below proposed amounts of consultants' salaries is not disputed, since it is not within the competence of AZTN's control - from which it follows that this document can be published and displayed publicly.

The proposed base prices of engineering consulting services are based on:

  • the real price of engineering labor on the market of the construction sector and services in the Republic of Croatia and in relation to labor costs in construction
  • appropriate compensation for the work of engineers, taking into account other professions
  • the principle that engineers should actively commit to the project entrusted to them (to prevent unprofessional behavior of engineers who cover a large number of projects at the same time)
  • striving to bring the price of engineering work within the investment project in the Republic of Croatia as close as possible to the share of engineering services as in projects in Western Europe (so far we are at 50%)
